The Difference between Wants and Needs
A Need is a requirement for survival and life such as food, shelter, clothing, love, security. They are the necessary components of our lives.
A Want is a desire above life's necessities.
Being free of the insatiable craving to accumulate tangible "wants" allows you freedom to find peace and happiness. We all strive to be happy. Happiness can be fleeting especially when pursued with dollar signs in our eyes. Throughout the ages, people of all walks have contemplated the source of true and lasting happiness. Many have tried to define the meaning of happiness but find that the definitions fall short of the experience itself.
Time and wisdom have proven that there are things we can do to improve our emotional state of being. These things we can do are not a secret, they are things that we intuitively know will be good for us. When we hear about or read about them we are not overcome with the awe from sudden enlightenment, rather we feel that we have been reminded of something that we already knew was true. They are the small acts that are woven into our lives. They are the fibers that make up our character. They are the seemingly plain and simple things that if embrace, will transform our lives and help us get closer to finding pure, unadulterated happiness.
A short list of ideas is provided here. The joy of finding more is yours.
