Shopping Tips:
-Look at flyers for sales
-Avoid grocery shopping when hungry
-If you have difficulty saying no to your children when they beg for a treat leave them with friends, a neighbor, or parent when you grocery shop
-Look at the unit price when comparing costs
-Bring a calculator shopping with you to calculate unit price if it is not posted ( $ divided by the mass)
- Bring a calculator with you so you can keep a running total
- Educate yourself on price ranges of goods you purchase often so you can spot a good deal
-Cut coupons
-Buying in bulk can save money
-Stock up on item you regularly replace when they go on sale, build up your pantry so that eventually you are only buying the items when they are on sale (I know a daycare that buys all of their laundry detergent for the year during the one week when they have a 2 for the price of 1 sale. They have to rush to the store when they run out and pay ticket price and they never pay full price for detergent.)
-Avoid convienience food items
-Learn to cook
-Negotiate prices for big ticket items
-Consider buying used rather than new
-Shop in the off season
-Learn to enjoy window shopping
-Teach your children the value of money so they dno't pressure you to spend
